EVA Hot Melt Adhesive Product Background

Hot melt adhesive is a solvent-free, solid adhesive made by melt-blending thermoplastic resins or thermoplastic elastomers with added plasticizers, tackifying resins, antioxidants, flame retardants, and fillers. Due to its non-toxic, environmentally friendly, and easy-to-prepare advantages, it has become a key development in the adhesive market. Global annual production has been on an upward trend, with the highest growth rate among all adhesive types, resulting in an increasing variety and widespread applications.

Ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) hot melt adhesive is easy to prepare and widely used in mechanized packaging, furniture manufacturing, shoemaking, perfect binding, bonding electronic components, and everyday items. It has quickly become the most widely used and consumed type of hot melt adhesive. DuPont pioneered industrial production of the product in 1960, naming it Elvax. Subsequently, companies such as UCC, USI, Bayer, ICI, and Monsanto also produced this product. EVA hot melt adhesive has great cohesion and low molten surface tension. It has hot adhesive bonding to almost all substances and has excellent chemical resistance, thermal stability, weather resistance and electrical properties. It is fast in bonding, widely used, non-toxic and pollution-free, and is therefore known as "green adhesive", attracting more and more attention.
